Bric design have been providing structural designs that enable the creation of climbing walls within existing buildings since our formation. We enjoy working on the interesting array of buildings clients find for such projects.
A private investor is creating a climbing centre within this interesting space, formerly used as a warehouse building for a famous C20th London factory. Bric are designing structural works that facilitate installation of the climbing walls. This involves remedial work to the existing slab and the addition of roof level lateral support beams.
Bric provided detail drawings and calculations relating to interfaces between climbing wall elements and the existing structure. In one location a portion of wall can be lowered to increase the incline of the climbing wall. This necessitated the use of new secondary steelwork (fixed back to existing frames) and the establishment of key strategic fixing points directly to existing steelwork.
